styled shoot hosted by Catrina Photography. on October 2nd 2019. It was the most well thought out put together styled shoot that I ever attended. My love for styled shoot is because it give me time in between shooting weddings and other fun sessions to really get creative and interact with other photographers. The editing style you see, isn’t new. I haven’t gotten away from Light + Airy/Classic. This is just how I was seeing the shoot + for own personal gain.

Here’s a few images to show just how much fun it really was. Oh and all the vendor love

My Soul Wept | Williamsport Photographer | Tasha Puckey Photography

2019 Tags, AUTUMN, Photography, Tasha Puckey Photography October 26, 2019

untitled.jpgMonday, March 10th, 2014 was the day that rocked my entire world. My Godmother was found unconscious just next door from my apartment. In complete shock, I began beating on her chest and crying out for her to come back to me. Luckily, I revived her and the ambulance was on the way to take her to the hospital. By the time she got to the hospital there was no brain activity. For my own selfish reasons, I left her on machines for the next 5 days. The first night she came to my dreams,  I laid my head on her lap + she ran her fingers through my hair. The second night, clear as day she said ” why am I still here? and I replied because I love you Godma, you need to come back to me. Next day (Wednesday) I got up and got a cup of coffee, I chuckled to myself as I heard the words “I like my coffee just like I like my men, dark + sweet.” Every day I visited her while my kiddos were in school and then I would bring them out to the hospital with me just incased I missed her waking up. Her brain waves would spike and I would get my hopes up this went on until Saturday, March 15th, 2014. Finally my pappy pulled me aside and said “there’s nothing more that they can do for her munchkin. Do you want to donate her organs?” Those words left a gapping whole in my chest. Well of course, can I get a little time with her before we let her go, I said. That was the last time I would see her face.

pain.jpg

My Godmother was the most genuine human on the planet. She would feed you even if she only had food to feed herself. She would shelter you even if you were a drug addict. To her, to Carol Lynn Vandeworp “Fisher” you were family.

She showed me what unconditional love meant, no matter what anyone does to you, no matter the harm, you love them. One of the last conversations we had, she told me “Tash, love your mama… one day she’s going to need it.” I’ve been loving my mama every day since those words were said.

Every year on her birthday, my kiddos and I would do something special for her. Photoshoots in green shirts, or send off green balloons with letters attached. Later in the evening, I would always end the night with her favorite song “It’s your love” by Tim McGraw + Faith Hill, followed by “Crying for me” by Toby Keith. Those two songs would allow my emotions feel relevant. My emotions have been all over the place the last few years because all I want to do is talk to her, take care of her + dammnit have her run her fingers through my hair when I have a bad day.

This year, I needed some peace of mind. I needed to allow my emotions of losing her + not being able to save her life be shown outward. For two months I planned every detail of my memorial session for her. The song lyrics to her favorite song, the location being close to Trout Run. Trout Run is where her family is from, and her favorite flowers (King Proteas). The model I chose was a past client turned friend. She resembles my Godmother and that was huge for me. Her tattoos , her hair, + the way she carries her heart outward. These images speak my emotions + how I have been feeling the past 6 years. Enjoy!

2019-01-10_0010

Where do I begin with this beautiful wedding? These two totally deserve one another… After all, LOVE ALWAYS WINS. After years of being apart, these two high school sweethearts found their way back to each other and decided to blend their beautiful family.

Getting Ready….

Lonnie got ready at David’s sisters house in Williamsport, PA. This would be the same location of their ceremony. Gathering her details, I couldn’t help but think of how beautiful Loni was going to be as a bride. I watched her grow in mind, body and spirit. This day was going to be special for her, indeed. NEPA Wedding and Destination Photographer Tasha Puckey Photography

…and they do!

19 years in the the making, they definitely did say I do! They chose the backyard of David’s sister’s house in Williamsport. What a gorgeous scenery it was with the mountains as a backdrop. Such a beautiful ceremony with tying of the hands. Loni’s father Kurt Neufer officiated the union. Their children were their bridal party and it was the sweetest gesture ever.

Check out more images from the ceremony and formals below.

Dancing the night away…

Lonnie + David entered the Gamble Farm Inn and they were  greeted by 75 of they favorite friends and family members. Toast were made, tears were shed, jokes were made. It definitely ended up being a great wedding. Full of love, laughter and memories  in the making. NEPA Wedding and Destination PhotographerNEPA Wedding and Destination Photographer

Then comes Baby Joe part 2|Maternity |Sammi + Tony

Y’all get ready for all the feels

Back in April, Sammi and Tony invited all of their friends and family to Sammi’s parents house to find out the gender of Baby Joe… if you missed that blog you can find it here and if you don’t want to read it… spoiler alert, IT’S A GIRL! Their gender reveal was to the theme “What will she/he Bee?” Get it? A Bee theme. cutest ever and I really think you should just check out the blog anyways.

Fun Facts

  • Sammi took 6 pregnancy tests just to be sure
  • Baby Joe’s nursery will be pink and floral (umm yea, someone come decorate my bedroom lol )
  • Her craving are never one specific – sounds like a girl (can’t make up their mind)
  • Tony’s morning breath has really bothered her since becoming pregnant
  • The best part about being pregnant is feeling

Maternity Session |Lycoming College

When deciding on a location, Sammi wanted a field of tall grass and well the weather wasn’t having it. Even though I had a backup plan, I really wanted to find some beautiful white pillars to compliment her dress. The ideas  had in my head for making her look like a queen needed to be executed in the right location. I asked in a local photographer community where I could find pillars and someone suggested Lycoming college and oh boy, or should I say “oh girl” it was perfect. The day of her session the clouds opened up and let a whole lot of rain came down. BUUUUUUT it was almost like it was perfectly planned because it stopped a few minutes before Sammi’s session. Let me just say, Sammi made those pillars look amazing.2018-06-26_0001

Downtown|Rooftop

After the beautiful session at Lycoming College we headed downtown to Center City. Stopped at the Brickyard well because they have the pretty sparkling lights and right across the street is a semi-gorgeous fire escape but it has a brick wall… HAHA see what I did there. I only took a couple of shots here because you could definitely tell Sammi was getting tired. 2018-06-26_0003

After hanging out in a beautiful alley way, we headed to a roof top about a block away. But it didn’t matter the location I chose, Sammi and Tony straight killed their session. Honestly, I could photograph them every day and it would never get old.

2018-06-25_0003Pre-Story| How Lonnie + I became friends

Where can I even begin with this beautiful love story, I’ve known Lonnie for 5 years. Lonnie was referred to me by a friend for engagement pictures with my now husband, Corey. She was the most sweetest person I knew in Williamsport, very insightful and a a life cheerleader. Seriously, she lit a fire under my butt and help me find my way back to photography. Crazy how things come full circle! In the past the past 5 years, I have seen Lonnie grow the courage to leave unhealthy relationships, trust people where trust shouldn’t be given and finally find love where love was 17 years ago. We would stay up to all hours of the night deep in conversation about how he prince would one day come to her rescue and take her away from all the trouble in her life. This year she finally marries her prince and I am so glad I get to witness it first hand.

Where it all began…

Remember when you were in high school and talking to the opposite sex was like the shy thing to do and you really had to muster up the strength to even get an “Hi” out. Well thats how Lonnie felt toward David and vice versa. They both had a high school crush on each other but neither of them could say so. Along came a “friend” and swooped David up right under lonnie and she never got the chance to tell him how she truly felt.

2018-06-25_0001It was fate!

After 17 years apart, David was going through Mr Neufer’s (Lonnie Neufer’s) facebook page and found Lonnie. As Lonnie recalls “He added me and I send him a message, we texted for 9 hours that night and all day the next day.” They had their first date at Hull’s Landing and from that moment on they knew they were meant for each other.

Engagement Session

We through around some great location ideas for their engagement session. We went from the idea of a winery, a city theme and a park, the park won. WHY? Oh because its the same park where they will marry each other. As we photographed their love, reminisced about the “good ol’ days” and how amazing their wedding is going to be. With their children by their side, they are set to wed September 8th, 20182018-06-25_0002

Courtney and her bridesmaids along with her mama (Kim) finished getting ready in the basement of Mountain View Fellowship. There were so many giggles and memories making when I arrived. I gathered up all her details and while she was getting her make on

I overheard that Courtney + Dylan were planning on having their ceremony outside until the rain decided to grace its presence on their beautiful day. Instead, they decided to have their wedding inside Mountain View Fellowship church and what a cute little ceremony it was, accompanied by beautiful white and red roses on the floor leading to their I do location.

MAY 2018 GOALS | Pennsylvania Photographer

May 2018 Goals | Pennsylvania Photographer

How did we get to May already? This year has been true blessing in every way and I couldn’t have done it without all of you and your referrals. With that being said lets take a look back on 2018 so far.

Tasha Puckey Photography

Can I just be honest here, I never in my wildest dreams thought that 2018 would be my crushing year, I figured that I would just coast along this year and continue education. Boy was I wrong, God heard my prayers and said “Let’s do this together.”Tasha Puckey PhotographyIn January, the coldest month in PA I had two portrait sessions,  participated in a beautiful winter styled wedding in Lebanon, PA and styled maternity sessions in Williamsport, PA. I had so much fun meeting new creatives and make friends along the way. Some of my favorite images from my sessions in January, I would love to totally go back so I can relive these all over again . I love what I do and that it’s not a job to me.

As we head into February, my goals were a little sketchy!  I wanted to book a Destination wedding and I thought I had it in the bag but life had a different story and thats ok because sometimes things are meant to be. However, I amped up my blogging and so excited because there is so many things that I want to show and so many beautiful things that I have captured along the way.  One of my main goals in my personal life was to change the images in my home, they definitely needed updated. What better month to do that than February. These beautiful/handsome faces belong to my children and they were also the faces of our valentine cards to our family. If you want to check out my other February goals you can do so here….

Then March happened! I loved March… Okay, I may be a little bias because March is my birthday month but seriously had the best time. A beautiful family from the church I attend adopted a little boy they call Samuel last year. Heather and I met through her cousin Libby, I mean we would have known each other much sooner if I weren’t such an introvert lol. She was looking for family images for the adoption agency and I couldn’t just let that go. I stepped up to the plate and they looked amazing. After there adoption was finalized in December and they were able to bring them home, I offered Heather and her family a family session because well you know… they needed updated images. They are the cutest family and the most humbled and definitely blessed.Tasha Puckey Photography

March wasn’t stopping with all the love in the world. A few photographer besties and myself were planning a Boho Styled Wedding shoot with some pretty awesome vendors. I couldn’t wait until our dreams became a reality. March 29th was the best day so far of 2018. Here is a few images from the shoot. I really cannot wait for Wedding season to start… eeeeeeeeek just one more week! Tasha Puckey Photography

April rocked my socks with my “Pay What You Can Mini sessions. They were sold out in a week and the first time ever. Also in the month of April I was featured twice not The Knots “How He Asked” blog and two more features are not the way this year. So exciting

Why YOU should get in the picture | Pennsylvania Photographer

Photography, Tasha Puckey Photography April 27, 2018

Why you should get in the picture | Pennsylvania Photographer

You’ve contemplated hiring someone to take new family photos but you don’t like how you look in your images. There are a million and excuses that you can make as to why you don’t want to be in pictures. Tasha Puckey Photography

  • your stomach is too big
  • you have wrinkles
  • a double chin
  • not photogenic
  • we can do it next year
  • having a bad hair day
  • my make up doesn’t look right
  • I don’t have anything to wear
  • we don’t hang pictures in our house

We all make these excuses, I know I have. My favorite? I don’t get in front of the camera, thats why I’m behind it. Can I get real and raw with you? Pictures are extremely important, totally worth it in the end and here’s why

Tasha Puckey Photography

Remembering Important momentsTasha Puckey Photography

When you are 85 and you are rocking your grandchildren, imagine yourself telling them them the story about how their Grandfather proposed to you. You can’t remember the exact details or even the words but your image show the emotion of the day. As you are looking through those images, memories flood back, the smells return and you know exactly what was said and how it was said. This is another way that dementia patients remember their lives… through images. You only get one life… document it

Remembering your ancestors

Tasha Puckey PhotographyI can’t tell you what any of my relatives past my grandmother look like. Maybe because my family were so poor that they couldn’t  afford to wear the shoes that were on their feet. I don’t know much about then except that they lived on a farm and my Great Grandmother died when my Grandma was 3 years old. I know for me, I would’ve love to see our family barn, look at those wrinkles,  tattered clothes dirty hands that belonged o my Great-Grandfather.
Getting your I,ages updated every year is a great way to have future generation look back and remember the way things used to be and the people that are in your family. Don’t leave your family wondering who you were and what you looked like… Get in the picture!

Telling Stories.

As photographers we are storytellers, we can capture the emotions of a picture and make it timeless. From engagement session to family sessions, it all tells a story. You want to be in these stories that are captured through the lens. Even if it’s through the lens of your phone, I urge you… I encourage you to live in the moment and get in the frame with your family.

…Then comes baby | Sammi + Tony

I remember the first time I met Sammi + Tony. We were meeting to discuss possibly hiring me as their wedding photographer. I thought “these two are the sweetest and coolest people ever.” Little did I know that they would eventually hire me and a friendship started. I was so eager to shoot their engagement session, Sammi wanted snow and it literally was not in the forecast. Sammie ended up rescheduling due to a ring issue and wouldn’t you know it… it snowed. You can see their engagement session here…

Tasha Puckey Photography

Planning started for their wedding and every detailed was DIY’d very thought out and I was so thrilled to get to shoot it. Shortly after hiring me to shoot their wedding, I found out that I was expecting a little girl and she was due two weeks before Sammi + Tony’s wedding… a ball of nerves let me tell ya. I was determined to shoot their wedding and I made sure that happened, right on schedule. Their wedding was so much fun and totally cool right down to her fur shawls Silver Moon |Sammi + Tony |Pennsylvania Wedding Photographer
This is where its starts getting amazing… They found out their were having a baby. WHHHHATTTT! How more perfect can their relationship be!! A page right out of a nursery rhyme. When I arrived to her gender reveal, her mama (totally sweet, creative and adorable) met me outside. I was totally early because I wanted to get details of her reveal before people started showing up. I was actually two hours early instead of a half hour early… pregnancy brain at its best. hehe – sorry Sammi, I had to lol.

Tasha Puckey Photography

Her reveal was going to come out of a BEE shaped piñata, like how cute is that? Her mama did a great job on all these decorations.DSC_7071 I still cannot get over how cute they are. I got to take a peak at the left over piñata stuffing that revealed the gender of baby Joe. I was so stoked for Sammi and couldn’t help but laugh because I knew how excited Sammi was going to be. After all she kept mentioning how she just wanted to go shopping. DINNNG DINNNG. Please note, having a baby girl will drain your bank account without with caring. I know this little girl will be the most spoiled and loved little girl in the world. Check out more images from their reveal… Congratulations again you two

NEPA Lifestyle Wedding Photographer |Wedding Day tips for Groom

Loyal and his Groomsmen

This is only my second year shooting Weddings…. yep I am putting myself out there. I am very passionate about capturing wedding images that will be passed down from generation to generation. So today, I am going to pass along some tips for the groom, that I have learned for your wedding day.

Groom Tips

1. The Haircut

a haircut should be done a day or two before the wedding day. It is important to know what hair style suits your face. If you do not know, you can find a photo of a haircut the you think might work and take it to your barber for his opinion

2. The Choice To Wax Is A Personal One

The choice to was is a personal one. If you make the decision to wax you have the option of doing your feet, chest, arms, face and even your backside. However you should never wax your nipples, genitals, eyelashes, ears or nose hair

3. The Hands Of The Groom

As the groom, you need to keep your hands clean, You can do this by washing them often and removing any dirt that is underneath your nails. A hand moisturizer for males should be used several weeks before the wedding occurs

4. Have A Pretty Smile

A toothpaste that has a whitening agent in it can be bought over the counter and will assist you in obtaining the prettiest smile you can have. You should be careful to avoid any toothpaste that has abrasives in it. These can wear away the structures of the teeth.

5. Manscaping

Some men may consider this as something that is done by women only. But the good thing is that by doing something as simple as cleaning up your eyebrow… can make a difference in your appearance.

6. Getting A Closer Shave

Everyone likes the feel of a close shave. Before you shave, rub your skin with pre-shaving oil or even something as simple as baby oil. A good idea is to shave while you are in the shower. The warm water will open your pores and soften your face to allow you to get as close as possible.

If you have any questions or maybe a topic that you would like to read… feel free to leave a comment!

Meet me Wednesday!

Photography March 1, 2017

Hi everyone. I thought I would introduce myself to all of you who don’t know me. My name is Tashamonique and I am a lover of all things DIRT. Oops, I mean a mother of all boys. My boys range from 1 year to 12 years old… Christian, Biggie, Malaki. They are my pure joy in life right along with my crazy-funny husband Corey. I love adventures, traveling and meeting new people. However, I am a introvert at best and it takes me a little bit longer than normal to approach people. <–welp that cats out of the bag. Tigger is my spritual animal and Florida is my happy place.

I love to smile, wear my hair in a bun, and I dont go anywhere without a scarf. When I am out and about, I open doors for people, give change to people holding “need money” signs, thin mint cookie buyer, and my husband loves to play pranks on me in the middle of the isles. My family and I attend Christian Church at Cogan where we’ve gone for almost 12 years. I serve on the worship team there and my husband helps out with a child’s program called FamJam… totally come check it out! really.. it’s fun and you won’tbe disappointed.

You can usually find me  cleaning my house or taking care of Christian, kissing a boo boo or reading one of my many books lying around my house. I am a sports mama…  mutliple sports! Football x2, basketball x2 and we might be throwing soccer back into the mix if I can ever find the information for the local organization.

2017 has gotten off to the great start so far and I am happy where things are leading. I have kicked off a project called “As One: Creating Unity.” As one is geared to sharing stories from local residents in Lycoming county to bring awareness about overlooked situations and bring people back into our community. Getting people together to spend time meeting someone new… helping out in our community and facing the situations that has kept you from doing the aboved mention. If you want to get involved and share your story, please feel free to email me or contact me via  Tasha Puckey Photography on Facebook.
My schedule is filling up fast this year and I would love to get you in

front of my camera and images on your wall to refresh your house for 2017. With that being said. Allow me to give you a looking to what a session would look like for you and your family. When you contact me for a session, I first schedule an in-person consultation to discuss your expectations – what you want to achieve with your sessions. I strive to get it right the first time so there’s no redo. Once we have discussed clothing coordination and location of your session, we will schedule a date that works best for you. Sessions usually take place up 2 hours after sunrise or 2 hours before sunset…GOLDEN HOUR. After you session is complete, you can expect a social media sneak peak within 48 hours via Facebook or Instagram . Within 2 weeks, you will a Reveal session where you will view a slideshow of your best images. During your Reveal session you will order your printing directly from me or  you can purchase a Custom Memory box with a USB. From session consultation to session completion it should a total of 3 weeks – up to 4 works during my busy season. I look forward to speaking with you or perhaps working with you in the near future. In the meantime, take a look around!

The best is yet to come!

Instagram post 2186501926464974001_2013955845 Who are you breaking bread with tomorrow?
It’s the famous turkey day that dates back to 1621. The feasted lasted 3 days with 90 Native Americans + 53 Pilgrims. 👈🏾 Random fact nerd. 🦃 🦃
Thanksgiving is a time to gives thanks + appreciation to those whom you do life with and even those who you don’t. 🍽
It’s a time where love + kindness should fill the air. Tomorrow, I get to sit down to dinner with my Puckey Fam in New York. But I can tell you that I am with a heavy heart but will put a smile on my face to make it happy for my family. ...
I leave you with this. Appreciate the people who are willing to sit down with you and love on you whole heartedly. Those are the people who are truly thankful for you.

Time to plan the wedding of your dreams. I suggest that you don't blink because it's going to go by fast.
Seriously, one minute you are picking up your Pink Drink with light ice + light coconut milk (where my keto girls at?) + the next minute, you are saying "I DO" overlooking gorgeous mountain views + dancing the night away to Lizzo.
DAY OVER!
When you wake up the next day, all that's left is your spouse + wedding photos. (definitely not a bad thing)

It may be hard to grasp but your wedding photos will become important over time. Your memories will fade and eventually you'll forget what your cake looked like, how amazing your groom smelled or how you + your bridesmaids felt when when your favorite DJ played Lizzo's "Good as Hell" .
✨
✨
Let's make sure those photos are EPIC, okay?
✨
✨
Email me to hear about all the things I help you with, boob tape, garter placement... haha just to name a few. ✨
✨
Cant wait to hear your Love Story! -Tash.
