East Coast Wedding Photographer – Shea + Tyler

In the quiet town of Crofton, Maryland, Shea and Tyler were surrounded by all of their friends and family at the Crofton Country Club; Shea + Tyler shared their vows, ate the most beautiful cake, and danced the night away.

When I first met Shea, I stumbled upon the opportunity to photograph her best friends wedding. Shea made sure all the things were taking care of for her bestie Caroline. Fast forward to 2021, Shea + Tyler submitted their love story entry into my 2022 Wedding giveaway. Their friends voted them to the top of the leaderboard. It was plain to see that Shea + Tyler were the winners.

After speaking with Shea + Tyler, they mentioned that their wedding would take place at the Crofton Country Club… wow! That was a complete shoe in. Now here’s the kicker, they were getting married in the winter. Game sooooo on.

Okay okay, I promise I will start from the beginning now. Bare with me… cause here we go. January 22, 2022 seemed to be fast approaching and honestly, I was soo ready for it. When I arrive at Shea’s parents home, the girls were getting ready and they were drinking mimosas out in the most beautiful day room. I mean windows galore. I just knew that room was going to be the place of all things details and getting ready. Shea was missing one of her bridesmaids that day and we honored her with a beautiful video sentiment and a drink to her. After securing all the beautiful details and getting ready pictures, it was time to see how the groom was doing. I headed over to the country club where I found Tyler and his groomsmen playing a round of pool and sipping drinks.

It was time for the the first look and tissue warning – you could see the love that Tyler has in his eyes for Shea. I believe I was tearing up behind the camera at this point, it was the a beautiful look. Hmmm.. did I mention it was cold??? Yess, oh yes but the wedding party held out and we got the most beautiful images.. So thank you wedding party if you are reading this… y’all were incredible. We headed inside, to begin the ceremony with the most gorgeous fireplace wrapped in candle light. AWWWWWWMAZING!

In the end, Shea + Tyler danced the night away with your family and friends. They also included a Hora Dance — y’all! A hora dance, sometimes referred to as a chair dance is when the bride and groom are lifted into the air while their family and friends dance in circles around them. During the hora, the couple each holds one end of a handkerchief or napkin to signify their union. So who initiates the hora? It’s up to the wedding party and close friends and family of the couple to make sure the hora dance goes smoothly. If they get the circles moving, everybody else will follow.
