Pennsylvania Wedding Photographer

Sacred Heart marriage blessing for Nigerian born, Pittsburgh couple Afooma & Chukky was everything that I could imagine and more. Not only was it a great opportunity to work alongside my husband as he assisted me but it was my first BIPOC wedding. Would I do it again, abso-stinking-lutely! This was their third time saying I Do to each other…. say what? Yep, you heard that correctly. Afooma & Chukky had a traditional Nigerian wedding ceremony in Africa. Following their ceremony, they had courthouse style wedding to make it official. In 2020, they wanted to have a State- side wedding with their friends and family but Covid-19 decided to deter their plans.

Afooma had a beautiful pinterest board for inspiration and if anyone knows me, they will know that I love to create your memories that are a reflection of YOUR desires… not mine. One of her must haves was a replication of a staircase that she seen. After the ceremony, we took a couple images at Sacred Heart… I must say, Sacred heart is one of the most beautiful Catholic churches I have ever seen. Afooma & Chukky’s, Sacred Heart marriage blessing was witnessed but Afooma’s sister, Chukky’s best man and a friend and it was perfectly splendid

After their images at Sacred Heart, We traveled over to Afooma & Chukky’s apartment building to secure some of the best shots that I have ever taken with off camera flash. Their apartment building used to school so there are little nestles of creative space that was yearning to be used. The images you see to your right was taken in what looks like a seating area, the background was super cool for baseball fans alike. However, the lighting was just what I needed to create the perfect intimate image. Towards the end of their portrait session, we decided to go outside where it finally stopped raining. Afooma & Chukky were the most incredible couple to end 2020. They braved the cold, got married 3 times and still decided to say I DO forever, together.
