Vendor Spotlight | Pittsburgh Photographer – Steve Skarupa Photography| Tasha Puckey Photography
1. Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a wedding, senior, and landscape photographer from Pittsburgh, PA. I spend my summers shooting photos and my winters teaching skiing at Snowshoe Mountain Resort in West Virginia. I have taught myself everything that I know and not only with photography. I also taught myself how to play the guitar and I cannot read sheet music whatsoever. I’m quite laid back and easy going.
2. What was your dream job growing up?
One of my dream jobs growing up was getting paid to ski and have fun. For the past 8 years, I have been living that dream.

3. 3 words to describe your brand?
Dramatic, emotional memories
4. How did you get into the photography industry?
I got serious with photography about 8 years ago during my first season working at Snowshoe. I wanted to capture the beauty of the resort and the surrounding mountains for my friends and family back home. The iPhone that I was shooting with just wasn’t doing the job, so I bought my first DSLR camera.
5. What sets you apart from others in your industry?
What sets me apart from my competition is that I offer my couples posing guides, wedding planning guides, my automated email series, and my VIP bridal Facebook group before they even book me. Also, I help them plan their wedding once they actually book me.

6. What is a typical wedding or session day like?
My team and I are there all day. From getting ready in the morning through late-night into the reception. We pay attention to every little detail of the wedding. I always say that I’m a very detailed wedding photographer and my couples love that.

7. What is your favorite part about a wedding day?
My favorite part of a wedding is simply the raw emotion that is involved with the day and that’s why I love shooting weddings.

8. If you could go anywhere tomorrow, where would it be?
If I could go anywhere tomorrow I would go to Hawaii. A destination wedding there would be even better!

Bonus | Quarantine Question
The quarantine has taught me a lot but probably the biggest thing it has taught me is to cherish the things that you have today because it could all be gone tomorrow. I know its cliche but it’s very true.
