2019 in the rearview mirror

2019 was all about learning. Learning more about who I was, who I am, and why I chose to be a photographer. My testimony will always be the same, just with a little more salt + pepper. I chose to be a photographer to capture human’s love stories with their unique styles + just the way they want to told, only through my perspective. I learned that you don’t have to compare your apples to someone else oranges and just because a photographer you look up to has amazing images, doesn’t mean you don’t. Put those blinders on and stay in your own lane girl. That is what matters the most + besides not everyone you encounter is for you.

I also learned that idols will fall and it doesn’t matter how high you stand on that pedestal, you will get knocked off. In addition, this industry is freaking tough, y’all seriously. Now, I am usually the one who sits back and takes it all in but I seen so many of my friends on the short end of the stick this year. While I am learning and creating, they are hurting and depressed. It makes my heart sad + grateful all in the same breath. You gotta pick yourself up, dust off the shoulder (90’s baby) and create on. The world doesn’t stop for anyone… except for Jesus!
